Twinkle Kids Cafe Ocean-Themed Balloon Columns

For the opening of Twinkle Kids Cafe, we created a custom ocean-themed balloon installation in a bright blue palette. Two sculptural balloon columns transform the doorway into an underwater welcome, with hand-twisted starfish, octopus, lobster, crabs and small fish alongside green seaweed details designed around the entrance.

A complete ocean story from the cafe doorway

The finished installation is designed to be read from a distance and enjoyed up close. A blue-and-white balloon base gives the columns their ocean depth, while the playful red, yellow and orange characters create bright points of interest for children and families arriving at the cafe.

Two sculptural columns, built detail by detail

Rather than using a simple balloon garland, each column is built as a tall sculptural piece. White netting wraps the blue balloon forms, lifebuoy details sit across the front, and smaller hand-shaped elements are layered into the composition so the design feels full from top to bottom.

Handmade marine characters bring the columns to life

Each sea creature is individually twisted and attached by hand. Expressive eyes, curved tentacles, claws and small fins give the display a friendly, illustrated quality while keeping the main focus on the blue ocean palette.

Seaweed, netting and playful colour accents

Long green balloons rise from the base like sea grass, with clear bubble-like strands weaving through the lower section. Yellow, orange, red and white accents echo the marine characters and help the ocean theme stay visible across the entire entrance display.

This custom installation combines sculptural balloon work with a clear entrance story: an ocean world that feels bright, friendly and made for children. The result is a memorable opening feature that works as both a welcome point and a photo backdrop for families.
