Custom Penguin Balloon Décor for a First Birthday at Park Hyatt Sydney
At Park Hyatt Sydney on Hickson Road, the client planned a girl’s first birthday in a private room with five tables. She wanted a soft, playful setting built around cute penguins, including a custom white backdrop, a balloon centrepiece for each table and helium balloons with confetti around the room.
The finished styling brought together white, soft pink and rose-gold accents so the table settings, backdrop and floating balloons felt like one celebration. The wide room photograph shows the full setup, while the closer images highlight the penguin details and table styling.

Five tables, one cohesive birthday story
The private room was arranged around five tables, and each table received its own custom balloon centrepiece. The designs used a consistent palette of white, soft pink and rose gold, with penguin details connecting the individual tables to the main backdrop.
This gave the room a clear visual rhythm: every table had a focal point of its own, while the repeated colours and character theme kept the celebration feeling connected.

A custom white backdrop for the main moment
The client chose a custom white backdrop and asked for a cute penguin look. The finished backdrop used soft balloon clusters, metallic accents and penguin figures to create a playful focal point without making the room feel crowded.
The white background kept the design light and clean, allowing the pastel balloons, rose-gold details and penguin characters to stand out in the private dining room.

Confetti helium balloons around the room
Helium balloons with confetti were added around the room to bring the theme above table height. Their soft pink, white and transparent details added movement and colour between the tables, while keeping the main focus on the backdrop and centrepieces.
Together, the floating balloons helped carry the penguin-inspired palette through the entire private room rather than limiting the decoration to the table surfaces.
