The result is not the same for every balloon. Balloon type, size, temperature, sunlight, air movement, surrounding surfaces and handling all matter. There is no universal temperature or float-time promise that applies to every product or event.
What heat can do to an inflated balloon
When the temperature rises, the helium or air inside an inflated balloon can expand. The balloon may change shape and, in some conditions, may pop. This is why hot cars, heaters, ovens, fireplaces and other strong heat sources are unsuitable places for balloon storage or display.

Why direct sunlight matters
Direct sunlight can warm both the balloon and the air around it. A position beside a window may still expose balloons to strong sun, even when the display is indoors.
Before placing a bouquet or decoration, look at where the sunlight reaches the room. The position of the sun can change during the day, so a shaded area at one point may receive direct light later. Choose an indoor position away from strong sunlight where possible.
What happens in colder conditions
Cold temperatures can make balloons appear softer or smaller. They may expand again when they return to room temperature. This change in appearance does not provide a reliable way to estimate how long a balloon will float or remain in the same condition.

Moving balloons between different environments
Temperature changes can happen during pickup, delivery or movement between indoor and outdoor areas. A balloon may leave an indoor store, travel in a vehicle and then enter a venue with different conditions.
Reduce unnecessary exposure during each move:
- prepare clean vehicle space before collection;
- keep the order away from direct sunlight and heat;
- remove balloons from transport bags after arrival;
- place the balloons in a stable indoor area; and
- keep them away from rough and sharp surfaces.

Balloon material and product choice
